Product: The product or service you offer needs to be able to meet a specific, existing market demand. Or, you need to be able to create a market niche through building a strong brand. Also for your product to sell you have to do a lot of research and try and sell them cheaper than the other companies or business if you can as more people will come. also asos has to do all things thing because it is an Internet only business it still has to thing about the products for example the quality has to be good so the product sells, the durability and also the looks. this season they have over 30,000 products for sale, and most of the sales have been women's wear.
Price: The price you set for your product or service plays a large role in its market ability. Pricing for products or services that are more commonly available in the market is more elastic and easy to do so, but when you try and enter new products it will be harder to put the correct price as you will not know how they will do in the market. Its the some for this as well for an Internet business, asos also has to think about the Internet when it comes to pricing as if they price the product to high then no one would buy it and if it is to low then you might be making a loss or you can keep stocks up so they have to be priced right, and all business think about pricing. Also asos has made an operating profit of 13.6 million pounds after tax, and this is a very good profit because of the current economy we are in at the moment, and this is still expected to rise in the next year.
Place: this is where the consumer comes and buys the product, most company’s like Tesco have placed them self’s in a retail park this is a good and cleaver way because there is not any other shops around so they will get all the stuff they need there instead of going around and getting them from different shops because of the price, but also place is how accessible your product is to the customer. asos also has to think about place so they can distribute there product all over the UK and also deliver the product fast as well, its very hard for asos to think about place as they are only an online business but it do sent apply to much to them as they have no shops where people can go and buy the product.
Promotion: Promotion is concerned with any one you employ for getting people to know more about your product or service. Advertising, public relations, point-of-sale displays, and word-of-mouth promotion are all traditional ways for promoting a product. Promotion can be seen as a way of closing the information gap between would-be sellers and would-be buyers. Your choice of a promotional strategy will be dependent upon your budget, the type of product or service a business is selling, and availability of said promotional products. asos do some advertising on the Internet and also they free advertising on magazines as people wear there clothes and this also helps them, just some of there promotion is done through bebo, facebook, twitter and what this does is that it targets people in that age group, but also if someone has bough something there before they can send leaflet's and e-mails promoting thing that they think that they will buy. also there web site is like a shop window that's what they have in there aims.
people: An essential ingredient to any service provided is the use of appropriate staff and people for the job. Recruiting the right staff and training them correctly so they are good in the delivery of their service is essential if the organisation wants to obtain a form of competitive advantage. Allot of Consumers make judgments depending on the service based on the employees they interact with. Staff should have the appropriate interpersonal skills, attitude, and service knowledge to provide the service that consumers are paying for. asos do this as well for example they need people to design there web site they need staff to confirm the orders and also they need staff to deliver them so they have to also find trustworthy staff so they can do all these but also people have to be trained different then normal as they have to be trained to do web page designing and those that take customer order have to be trained to do this over the phone.
process: Refers to a systems used to assist the organisation in delivering the service. for example if you walk into Burger King and you order a Whopper Meal and you get it delivered within 2 minutes. the process that allowed you to obtain an efficient service delivery was people working in a team and also working fast and effective, another example is if a Banks that send out Credit Cards automatically when their customers old one has expired again require an efficient process to identify expiry dates and renewal. An efficient service that replaces old credit cards will foster consumer loyalty and confidence in the company. asos also deals with process as when people order there product they are the ones that determine the process of the product getting delivered and what is the process of them delivering the product, also how efficient is there process.
physical evidence: is where the service is being delivered? Physical Evidence is the element of the service mix which allows the consumer again to make judgments on the organisation. If you walk into a restaurant your expectations are of a clean, friendly environment and tidy. On an aircraft if you travel first class you expect enough room to be able to lay down nice and soft seats and good service provided by staff. Physical evidence is an essential ingredient of the marketing mix, consumers will make perceptions based on their sight of the service provision which will have an impact on the organisations plan of the service but also what this can mean is that a recipe or invoice can be provided like evidence of purchasing the product. asos can provide a welcoming or something like this as they are only online but they can offer a receipt or invoice as proof of purchase. it is different as you cant physically touch the product until you receive it. also asos doesn't have to worry about anything like lighting or poster or anything like this except form the web design and also the physical evidence you get is when you receive it is your product and your receipt.
Going back to the question asked for this part of p1 does Internet marketing integrate with the 7P's, and yes it does but not fully as for example most of the P's an Internet business needs to think about but some of them they don't really need to do or thing about it for example place an Internet business doesn't need to thing about this so much. the other P's though they do have to think about and some they have to adapt and over come for example people they have to train them differently from a normal business, so they have to do different stuff from an physical business.
